Phoenix, AZ — east of downtown

Two decades on the same Phoenix yards.

Lawn Care Solutions is a small crew working out of a shop on E Coronado Rd. The same hands that quote your yard come back for the mow, the rock spread, the cleanup. Mowing, trimming, rock conversions, weed control, tree trim — done in the register of the historic east-of-downtown neighborhoods.

How we got here

Twenty-one years working Phoenix yards.

One operator's trade tenure, not a corporate timeline. The shop on E Coronado Rd has been a fixed point through most of it.

  1. Around 2005

    First Phoenix yards

The work starts as one truck, a trailer, and a mower — mowing-and-blow around east-of-downtown blocks.

  2. By 2012

    Wider scope

Trimming, weed control, mulch beds, the first rock-spread jobs. The neighborhoods kept asking.

  3. Late 2010s

    Rock conversions take over

Decomposed granite, decorative rock, boulder accents. The portfolio fills up with turf-to-xeric conversions.

  4. 2020

    Lawn Care Solutions LLC

On April 20 the LLC paperwork goes in. Same crew, same shop on E Coronado Rd — proper paperwork on the door.

  5. 2026

    Still on the same phone

Twenty-one years on the trade. Same shop, same crew, same number — (480) 826-2886.

— Same shop on E Coronado Rd. Same number. (480) 826-2886.

About the crew

Crew first. Paperwork second.

Lawn Care Solutions has been a working crew on Phoenix yards since the mid-2000s. We formed the LLC in 2020 — but the trucks were already familiar in Coronado and Arcadia by then. The shop is on E Coronado Rd, walking distance from a lot of the work. Mowing, trimming, rock spread, mulch beds, weed control, tree trim. Wide scope on purpose — east-of-downtown lots ask for it. The historic neighborhoods have older trees, mixed yards, and a lot of decomposed-granite work that needs honest hands.

We're insured. Walkthroughs are free. The crew that comes out to look at the yard is the crew that does the work. No subcontracting, no roving handoffs, no surprise upcharges between the estimate and the invoice.

Twenty-one years in the trade. The LLC has been on the door since 2020.

What we do — east-of-downtown Phoenix

Seven things, done in the Sonoran register.

The wide list isn't a stretch — Coronado and Arcadia properties typically need more than mow-and-blow. We do most of it under one phone number.

  • Mowing

Weekly or bi-weekly. Reel-finish on bermuda where the lawn warrants it; clean stripes on the rest. Mowers cleaned between yards so a weed call doesn't travel.

  • Trimming & edging

Crisp lines along walks, drives, and bed edges. String-trim around saguaros, palo verdes, and mesquite without bark damage.

  • Yard cleanups

Post-monsoon storm cleanup, palm-frond haul-off, overgrowth knockdown on lots that have gotten away from the owner. We haul our debris out the same day.

  • Rock spread & landscaping

Decomposed granite, decorative rock, boulder accents. Set on a proper sub-base — geotextile under DG, edge restraints on transition lines. The conversion that drops your water bill.

  • Mulch beds

Refresh on existing beds or a full build-out around new plantings. Bark, shredded, or rock-mulch depending on the bed and the heat exposure.

  • Weed control

Pre-emergent calendar tied to the AZ weed cycle — late winter for summer broadleafs, early fall for winter ryegrass volunteers. Spot-spray follow-ups between mows.

  • Tree trimming

Palo verde, mesquite, ironwood, citrus. Lions-tail correction on mature canopy, clean cuts on dead or wind-damaged wood. Hauled off the same day.

Before & after — rock conversions

Three yards. Three layers. Same crew.

Hand-drawn cross-sections, not photo composites. Each section cut shows the ground line, subgrade, geotextile, top layer, and the planting we drop in. The drawings are the spec — the install matches them.

Turf to decomposed granite

The most-asked-for conversion in Coronado and Arcadia. We strip the tired bermuda or fescue, set geotextile, lay decomposed granite over a compacted subgrade, drop decorative rock for visual breaks, and tuck in three or four low-water specimens with a fresh drip loop.

Before

Tired turf · weekly water · seasonal patching

After

DG + decorative rock · drip loop · 3–4 specimens

Weed-overrun bed to clean bark

A bed that has gotten away from the owner. We hand-pull the surface, hit the root layer with a pre-emergent calendar tied to the AZ weed cycle, set fresh shredded bark over a clean ground line, and place a single boulder accent so the bed reads designed, not patched.

Before

Surface weed mat · root layer not addressed

After

Cleared · pre-emergent · fresh bark · boulder

Tired bark to rock mulch

Bark breaks down in the AZ heat — every two or three years a refresh turns into a full re-bed. The rock-mulch swap holds up. Geotextile under, 2–4 inch decorative rock on top, a barrel cactus or two for vertical interest, and the bed is good for a decade.

Before

Bark breakdown · summer scorch · re-bed cycle

After

Rock mulch · geotextile · barrel cactus accent

Most east-of-downtown front yards convert in two days. Water bill drops the next cycle. The free walkthrough is when we sketch the section cut for your lot.

What people say

Reliable. Quality. Same crew.

  • Reliable and very quality work. They've been on our yard for two years now — same guys every visit. Bermuda actually looks like bermuda. They flagged a drip leak in the rose bed we'd missed.

    Homeowner

    Coronado · 2024

  • Converted the front lawn to decomposed granite with desert plants and a couple of boulder accents. Crew showed up when they said, finished in two days, and the water bill dropped the next cycle. Estimate matched the invoice.

    Homeowner

    Arcadia Lite · 2024

  • Friendly. Communicative. Cleaned up after themselves. Two decades on Phoenix yards shows in how quickly they sized up the weed problem in our back bed and laid out the pre-emergent plan.

    Homeowner

    Encanto-Palmcroft · 2024

  • Free estimate was actually free. No upsell. They told us the mesquite didn't need a full removal — just a lions-tail trim — saved us most of what another crew had quoted.

Mowing is by the lot — most Coronado and Arcadia front yards land in a tight range, but the back yards vary too much to quote sight-unseen. Rock conversions and bed work always get an itemized written estimate before we order material.

We cover Coronado, Arcadia, Arcadia Lite, Encanto-Palmcroft, Biltmore, Camelback East.
